You booked a mobile detail because you didn't want the hassle. The last thing you want is a checklist that turns a convenient service into a Saturday chore.
Good news: prep is genuinely small. There are three things we need from the driveway, and two categories of stuff you probably want out of the car. That's it.
What We Actually Need in the Driveway
Three things. That's the list:
- Parking space for the car — a normal spot plus a few feet on either side so we can open all the doors and work the rear hatch.
- A standard 120V outdoor outlet within reach of the vehicle. Garage-side or porch outlets both work.
- A way to reach the car — unlocked, keys in a spot we agreed on, or you'll be home to pop the doors.
No hose. No water hookup. No shop bay. We bring water, extraction machines, lights, and every product we need. If your driveway can fit a normal SUV with the doors open, it can fit us.
The Outlet Situation (Read This Part)
The one thing that occasionally trips people up: the outdoor outlet. Older east-side homes sometimes have an outlet that's decorative or wired to a wall switch that's off. If you're not sure yours is live, plug a phone charger in the day before and confirm it works.
If there's genuinely no outdoor outlet, a garage outlet with the door up works. We can run our own heavy-duty extension cord from a nearby indoor outlet in a pinch — just tell us at booking so we plan for it.
What to Take Out of the Car (5 Minutes, Tops)
The short answer: valuables and anything you wouldn't want moved. We treat every car respectfully, but you shouldn't have to think about it.
Take out:
- Wallets, cash, jewelry, garage remotes, and toll transponders you can pop out
- Sensitive paperwork (mail, insurance cards, work documents)
- Fragile items and anything sentimental
- Sunglasses in the visor clip
- Loose kid toys and pacifiers you don't want repositioned
Leave in — no need to touch these:
- Owner's manual, registration, insurance in the glovebox
- Trash — we handle it
- Water bottles, receipts, food wrappers — we handle those too
- Aftermarket floor mats and organizers
If you skip this whole step, we bag your personal items to the side and hand them back organized. Not a dealbreaker.
Car Seats — Leave Them or Take Them Out?
This is the most common question from Cleveland east-side families. Real answer, no fluff:
- Leave them in if you want the seat cleaned around and the accessible carpet under the front edge vacuumed. Most parents pick this. Zero hassle.
- Take them out if you want us to fully clean underneath, extract the seat well, and hit the crumbs that live inside the seat cushion. This is where the crushed goldfish civilization lives.
If you're going the “remove them” route, take them out before we arrive so you're the one installing them back — that way the installation is right, and we're not playing tech support with a car-seat manual we've never seen.
Booking the Ultimate Interior or a Fresh Club reset? That's when pulling the seats is most worth it — the extraction phase actually gets to the mess.
If You Won't Be Home
Totally fine. Common setup:
- Leave the car unlocked, or keys in a lockbox / under a mat / in the mailbox — whatever you'd tell a house cleaner
- Text us where the outdoor outlet is if it's not obvious
- Confirm the driveway or garage code if we need it
- We text before we arrive, when we start, when we're done, and we send finished photos
You'll know exactly what's happening the whole time without being there. Most working parents on the east side book this way — appointment during a workday, come home to a reset car.
Cleveland Weather & Scheduling
Interior work isn't weather-dependent. Rain, snow, cold — we just need the doors open under cover. If your driveway is exposed and it's actively pouring, we'll work in the garage with the door up. If your garage is full, we'll reschedule to the next dry morning. No charge for shifting the appointment.
Salt season (November through April) is when interior detailing gets the most out of a car in Cleveland. If you're on the fence about timing, don't wait for spring — salt keeps working while you wait.
The Zero-Prep Version
Don't feel like doing any of this? Fine. Here's the actual minimum:

- Grab your wallet and garage remote out of the console
- Point us at the car
